Normal findings in the small bowel

Normal ileum

Peyer´s glands (agminated glands) in the ileum (arrows). Aggregations of solitary glands, forming circular or oval patches from 20 – 30 in number and varying in length. They are largest and most numerous in the ileum. Normal ileum – mucosal folds are sparse and thicker in comparison with the jejunum.
